"Greatest Hits, Vol. 1" is a compiliation album, the first of it's kind to be released by Columbia Records. While ten out of the eleven songs on the album can be found on previously released albums, the first song, "Jackson", a duet with Cash's future wife June Carter, was previously unreleased. The song would first appear on "Carryin' On With Johnny Cash And June Carter" in August the same year (1967).
