Proud Central presents Johnny Cash: A Definitive Portrait, a telling and intimate collection of photographs capturing the life of the legendary musician through

rare and never before seen images from the photographers who

knew him best.

Five years on from his death, the exhibition documents Cash's

whole career, from his early touring right up to the end of his life,

the show is a retrospective of one of last century's most influential

singer-songwriters. Depicting Cash at his most enigmatic, Proud

Galleries will present striking images from a range of

internationally renowned photographers representing one of the

most significant Johnny Cash exhibitions to date.

This exhibition offers an exclusive opportunity to see images of Cash by the late Marvin Koner, displayed for the first time as a part of this exhibition, alongside iconic images from Danny Clinch, Paul Natkin and the acclaimed Andy Earl. Koner, whose

images of Cash are seeing the light of day for the first time after

being lost for over 40 years, photographed many great names

during his career and his images of Johnny Cash paint a revealing

and intimate portrait of a musical icon, seen for the very first time

at Proud Central.

Continuing this fascinating retrospective Proud has also included

striking photographs by the late Leigh Wiener, his amazing archive

of images reveal Cash in a new and rarely seen light, making this

the must see Johnny Cash exhibition this year.
